Is the urine sodium concentration elevated?

Does the child have normal renal function?

Is an evaluation of endocrine function normal?

Is a disease identified that could explain hypernatremia?

Does the hypernatremia resolve when the child is separated from probable perpetrator(s)?

Is there circumstantial evidence or a confession for salt administration by a suspected perpetrator?
